
City player Ishwari Savkar has been selected for the national-level high-performance camp organized by the National Cricket Academy (NCA) under the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in the girls’ under-19 age group.
The month-long camp will be held from August 1 for emerging and promising players from all over the country at NCA, Bengaluru. and will be headed by for mer test cricket player VVS Laxman. BCCI is preparing. the potential selection talent in the under-19 age group ahead of the first World Cup to be held in South Africa in 2023.
Best performance in this field
City opener Savkar was earlier selected for the camp held in Rajkot in May. June. The BCCI had formed six teams from this camp. Savkar had scored the high est number of 509 runs with two unbeaten centuries and two 50s in the matches played at Vijayawada. Savkar has been selected for this very important camp by BCCI on the strength of her remarkable performance in various competitions of the last sea son. She had represented Maharashtra under-19 and smashed 86 runs against Andhra Pradesh and a best inning 73 against Chandigarh.
